About Prime Time Tutoring
Prime Time Tutoring was founded by Erica Broder, an experienced educator who has been teaching math since 2016. Erica graduated from the University of Michigan with a bachelor’s degree in elementary education and later earned a master’s degree in learning technologies and instructional design. She began her teaching career in Chicago at Catherine Cook School, where she deepened her expertise in both math education and executive function coaching.
Erica is known for making math fun, approachable, and engaging, helping students build both skills and confidence. With years of experience supporting students in the classroom, she brings patience, creativity, and a proven track record of helping learners succeed.
What to expect during a tutor session:
Each tutoring session begins with an age-appropriate math warm-up designed to build fluency, confidence, and problem-solving skills. Instruction then focuses on grade-level math concepts tailored to each student's individual needs, whether that means strengthening foundational skills, receiving homework support, or engaging in enrichment and advanced problem-solving.
For families seeking additional support, an optional executive functioning add-on is available. This portion of the session focuses on developing skills such as organization, planning, time management, task initiation, and study strategies that help students succeed both in and out of the classroom.
Following each session, parents and guardians receive a brief progress report summarizing the skills covered, student accomplishments and areas for continued growth.
